Bexhill Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Centenary Grant Fund

Bexhill Chamber of Commerce is 100 years old in 2025 and in celebration we are launching a £25k Capital Grant fund to support our business community.

These funds have been provided as part of the Government levelling up initiative through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. The fund is administered by Eastbourne and District Local Enterprise Partnership Ltd (Edeal) in co-operation with Rother District Council (RDC) and Dr Kieran Mullan MP for Bexhill and Battle.

Applications for funds are open to:

  • Businesses Registered at Companies house that can provide a registration number.
  • Charities Registered with the Charity Commission that can provide a registration number.
  • Community Interest Companies and other social enterprises registered with companies house.
  • Associations of members that have been active for more than fives years and have audited accounts.

Local authorities including Bexhill Town Council may not directly apply to the fund but may act as funding or delivery partners of third party submissions. Approval for Local Authority participation must be submitted with initial application.

To be eligible to receive funding all applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are able to deliver the project for which funding is applied and that the outcome of the funding will be of benefit to the business community of Bexhill within the nine recognised wards of Bexhill.

Applications to the fund must only be submitted in the first instance through this website.

Applications will be assessed by an independent panel of business and grant funding experts approved by Bexhill Chamber of Commerce, EDEAL and RDC.

Applications for funding can be for £500 up to the £25k limit of the fund.

Match funding or shared funding projects may be considered however full details of co-funding must be provided with the initial application.

We have £25, 000 to give away to our town!!

Anyone is able to apply for a Bexhill Chamber of Commerce Centenary Grant, however you must be able to demonstrate that you are able to deliver community or business related projects. The prime benefit of the fund should also be contained within the nine wards of Bexhill Town.

The use of this fund it as expansive as the imagination.

Our only pre-requisite is that the Bexhill Business Community must benefit in some way.

The money can be used to refurbish an area of the town, create a local asset within the public realm or improve accessibility to business. We are looking for long term sustainability and not a quick bang for the buck approach.

Projects will be evaluated based on their ability to drive footfall and improve business prospects and business well-being in Bexhill.

We will expect a project plan to show how and when this will be delivered, but we are on a tight schedule to deliver results.

To make a request for funding please submit your proposal via the form link below.

Applications will be assessed in June / July 2025 and you may be asked for more information.

The legal process around the grant will commence at the start of June, and a decision on your application will be awarded once that decision has been made.

Deadline for applications is June 30th 2025. Deadline for completion of all funded projects is December 31st 2025
